Way back when, we were challenged to go to the The New York Zoo and Aquarium site to explore the possibility of creating an avatar for our final project. If you saw my old Project 5, I had posted my avatar there. During the weeks, I thought about how I would work on it through Fireworks, updating and adding some of my own ideas. What I found out was that it isn't always easy to take another's image and make it do what you want it to do! I was eventually able to place the text I wanted by exploring the filter system in the Fireworks program, and lighten the original picture to allow for my text to stand out. It was fun, if not easy, and I really learned a great deal after many hours of going back and forth, giving up, and then trying again. For copyright purposes, I used the "Create Your Wild Self" website through the Wildlife Conservation Society, New York Zoo and Aquarium.
